hard not for him to rebound

it’s the health issue that is the problem and he doesn’t address Guillen’s inability to stay healthy

Agreed

I don’t think anyone disputes that a healthy Carlos Guillen is good. Really good, in fact. The question is if we’ll see the healthy version again.

In a vacuum, I agree with Dave. However, I feel more of Guillen’s “Cliff” isn’t due to the aging curve but of that whole ‘body-falling-apart’ curve.

His 07 and 08 wOBA's were basically identical and he came back real strong

after the injury last year. So, Dave is not exactly going out on a limb by saying that. If Guillen is healthy, he will post a wOBA around .360 or so and he would still be a potent bat. The only reason the projections are calling for worse than that is b/c of the potential injuries and the effect they could have on his performance. Expecting full health from Guillen is quite a risk.
