sounds like a bad porno

If you have MLB TV

they have a link up for a radio feed

by C Bass on Mar 11, 2010 12:54 PM EST reply actions

I'm not saying you shouldn't

I just think the MLB should stream radio broadcasts without charging for them. But my pockets aren’t being lined with the revenue from it, so I’m biased.

I torrent everything else so I’m right there with you

At Bat iPhone App

Has a link to the Philly’s radio feed as well.

The thought occurs to me

that my family still lives in the Philly area. Perhaps I shall place a call to see if the game is on local TV so I can get biased updates on the proceedings. Yes, I color outside the lines and am not a Phillies fan.

i am in philly. I don’t believe it is. They tend to replay ST games at night

Sweet mother of pearl!

I love Jim Leyland, really I do. But nothing is more frustrating to me than his desire to bat Clete Thomas third. Even in today’s spring lineup, he should be 7th or 8th. Jeez I hope Jim doesn’t do that to us again this season…

But try this link I think you can get live stream radio from here http://www.freebaseballradio.com/Philadelphia.html

Holy Moses!

Go to the ESPN baseball homepage. Jayson Werth’s beard must occupy its own spot on the 25 man roster.

this is not the best way to start the game

by murrajo on Mar 11, 2010 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

Against the Yankees, I feared that far worse would happen

I’m saying that and I like Galarraga. At any rate, he’s the one pitcher I can’t make a solid assessment of unless I can see him (or specifically, how his pitches are moving).

by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 11, 2010 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

I'm down on AG now

I think we see that 2008 was an abberation and he is not that good. It may be a lack of self confidence, but he isn’t what he was anymore and I don’t see it coming back.

I would be very happy to have him change my mind though

by murrajo on Mar 11, 2010 1:40 PM EST up reply actions

I don't think you can carry an aberration through an entire season

Once you’ve proven that you can be successful, you can do it again unless you’re too old or you’re injured. It’s a matter of figuring out what it was that made you successful (mechanical, psychological). In Galarraga’s case, he strikes me as a very smart person, and because of that, I REALLY want him to be successful. But because he is a very smart person, I think he sometimes has a tendency to overthink when he’s on the mound (I have a tendency to do the same thing in my daily life). Either way, I want him starting, be it in Detroit or in Toledo, not in the bullpen.

Single for sizemore

by rif23 on Mar 11, 2010 1:32 PM EST reply actions

There was an interesting note from Dan Dickerson in an FSN report.

Inge, Everett, and Sizemore were studying video frame-by-frame of Polanco turning the double play. I’ll post the link if I can find it.

Gotta admit

I have no clue who some of these Philthies are. Howard? Victorino? Are these guys supposed to be any good?

by ChrisDTX on Mar 11, 2010 1:41 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, the only Howard I’ve heard of is that rook with the Braves…

by SweetLouDoubleU on Mar 11, 2010 1:42 PM EST up reply actions

I like Utley

he has the habit of dropping f-bombs on live TV. There’s something to be said for that.

There are two instances that come to mind

1. ASG introductions at Yankee Stadium (boo? Fuck you!) and
2. At the Phillies victory parade (World Champions. World Fucking Champions).

I’m pretty sure he knew he was on camera both times.

Utley singles, Polanco to second

The Phillies broadcasters keep talking about jury duty, but I’ve missed who they’re talking about

by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 11, 2010 2:15 PM EST reply actions

For a baseball player?

Haha, that’s awesome. I’d love to see that in the box score: “DNP – Jury Duty”

just because most baseball players don’t sport one?

Another cliche, but still...

One positive: Our pitchers didn’t walk anybody today.

by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 11, 2010 3:08 PM EST reply actions

Just Wondering...

How is Daniel Fields doing? I haven’t heard anything about him this Spring…
And Cale Iorg? (I know he’s not that great, but Danny Worth was playing earlier in ST games)
Are they both in minor league camp (I guess that would make sense, seeing as they don’t really have a chance with the big club. Then again Turner and Crosby pitched, but maybe that’s different…)
