Complete Coverage

Box

Placido Polanco started two double plays for the Phillies as their third baseman, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports. A little bit of "I told you so"? Well, probably not.

The Tigers had three hits. Rookies Austin Jackson and Scott Sizemore had two of them. I'm not sure you can read anything into that -- OK, I'm sure you can't, really -- but it's interesting none-the-less. Jeff Larish had the third hit. So that end of things was boring.

Pitching? Justin Verlander pitched four innings, gave up two runs and six hits. Joel Zumaya gave up a run.

the Sky is Falling

Verlander is going to have a bad year, I guess, although we can console ourselves with the knowledge that Austin Jackson is gong to win ROTY, the batting title, and MVP.

I dunno about ROTY for Jackson

Turner’s 300 strikeouts are going to be pretty hard to ignore.

300?

Don’t low ball him.

Love how the alphabet vaults me to third place in the COTN pre-season standings...

…hate how I can’t even get on that board without committing a typo.

In my defense, I have been awake for about all but 8 of the last 72 hours…

Do the Tigers always wear their home caps for road games during the spring?

by mattintoledo on Mar 11, 2010 11:16 PM EST reply actions

far as I know teams only wear one hat style during spring training games

but that’s only as far as i’ve observed on tv and such, I’m sure someone can give a better answer

Someone asked Jason Beck that question in a mailbag segment a few years back

I believe he said that it’s for simplicity’s sake (since there’s a lot more people around during spring training).
