Brace yourself...
…because this could be ugly. Armando has the ability to make even a team as weak as the Blue Jays look like playoff contenders.

So does Justin Verlander
Seriously. Look at his career numbers.

Basically, what I meant was...
“Galaraga bad.”
And while we’re on the subject:
“Verlander good.”
Do they have an opening on the Baseball Tonight staff? :)

He's been successful before, therefore he can do it again
It’s just a matter of figuring out what made him successful (which isn’t always easy). And that holds true for Bondo, Robertson, and Willis.

Does anyone have any clue how to pronounce "Rzepzcynski"?
If he’s as hard to hit as his name is to pronounce, then the Jays have an ace on their hands!
It's pronounced . . .
. . . just like it’s spelled.
I get the feeling that...
some of those guys handing out ID cards at Ellis Island didn’t pass alot of spelling tests, or Polish people really like to fuck with us.

It's entertaining for a while
but kind of disappointing when people get it wrong for important things (like a graduation ceremony)

couldnt miss the first telecast haha. I have quite a few skips coming up with the first game Monday afternoon at KC, and then that Friday to go to Opening Day. Tigers > Class
No Friday class = more Tigers for Rob
Is it bad that I thought about this in December when planning my schedule?

me too
Woke up this morning and felt miserable – called in sick to work and went back to bed for a few more hours.
Didn’t feel all that great the end of last week, but thought I dodged the crud – not quite. Feeling a lot better now, so should be fine to go back to work tomorrow.
I don’t mind a little longer weekend, but I would rather not have it be because I felt sick. :(

Nunez saved a run there.
I don’t think Everett makes that play.
Gargle
Looked ok in the first inning, but I am not convinced of his ability to get people out with strikes. Right now, he remains solidly behind Robertson, Bonderman, Willis, and Bonine in my mind.

still looking?
Bummer. My sister is still looking – and one of her friend’s has a husband who’s been out of work for more than a year now. It’s tough because their daughter just turned 18 and will be starting college in the fall. (Community college, though, so that will help a little.)

Galarraga
Now a long shot to make the rotation. The deck was stacked against him to begin with.
$ 34.5 million owed to Bonderman, Robertson, and Willis means that he’d have to be way better than those guys before the Tigers just release one of them. Then, he has an option left, then JL would like to have a lefty in there somewhere….. looks like he should be looking for an apartment in Toledo.
I don't, and never have, bought the "we have to play these guys because we pay them so much" argument.
Willis has barely played during his time in Detroit. I don’t think any team ever factors the pay into figuring out who to slot in.
Galarraga is bad enough on his own to miss the rotation.

Jacob needs to build up his stamina
i.e. innings count, before he takes on a full professional season work load, at any level.
Oliver and Crosby are closer to the majors, but Turner will be there.
That sounds familiar...

What Nunez just did
what Nunez just did is EXACTLY what plagued the Tigers in 2009. They left runs on the table that were there for the taking. Second and third, one out. ANY kind of ball in play, other than a pop up, and we take the lead. He takes three called strikes, like a deer in the headlights. Total waste.

Thomas is supposed to be a LOOGY right?
bringing him in against 3 strait righties doesn’t seem to be the most productve thing.
There was some chatter about Thomas being a closer
at the time they signed him. I never bought that line, but we’re still looking for two set up men, and nobody has come forward. Zumaya is reeking, Perry isn’t ready, Seay is hurt and not that good anyway, Coke looks good to me, Schlereth is a minor leaguer, who’ll step up? Thomas has to be considered.
Lots of them around . . .
Some even comment on this board . . . ;)
He's from Australia

just looking at his line, it seems AG is throwing strikes (3 K in 3 IP)
was he too predictable? were hitters
a balk and a wild pitch finished off the damage
AG was losing control when he got into trouble. He needs to attack hitters.
Crowd noise suggests something just happened...
But they are too busy feeding softballs to Damon to mention it.
Any clues?

And now an errant toss to first. A “how not to field in baseball” clinic by Toronto right now.

This is has got to be the best 40 man roster the Tigers have ever had.
It would fun to see all these prospects on TV regularly, especially Jacob Turner.
Mostly they're boring, especially during the season when they interview Mike Babcock or the Lions' first round pick
Or someone else completely unrelated to baseball. There are a few players for whom I would make an exception, though.

Yay, I'm home
But the score was 3-3 when I left school. What (or who) happened?
Also, I have learned that I can’t recognize Alex Avila by voice alone.
We scored some more runs and then
They scored a bunch of runs and then we scored a couple more runs.
His voice doesn't seem to match with his face somehow
Toronto took a 5-3 lead, then it was 5-4, then 5-5 as Toronto put on a “how not to field at the major league level” clinic, then Toronto scored again, and somewhere in there Brendan Boesch (sp) hit a BOMB of a homer.
I think.
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero
