Brace yourself...

…because this could be ugly. Armando has the ability to make even a team as weak as the Blue Jays look like playoff contenders.

Basically, what I meant was...

“Galaraga bad.”

And while we’re on the subject:
“Verlander good.”

Do they have an opening on the Baseball Tonight staff? :)

He's been successful before, therefore he can do it again

It’s just a matter of figuring out what made him successful (which isn’t always easy). And that holds true for Bondo, Robertson, and Willis.

Does anyone have any clue how to pronounce "Rzepzcynski"?

If he’s as hard to hit as his name is to pronounce, then the Jays have an ace on their hands!

me too

Woke up this morning and felt miserable – called in sick to work and went back to bed for a few more hours.

Didn’t feel all that great the end of last week, but thought I dodged the crud – not quite. Feeling a lot better now, so should be fine to go back to work tomorrow.

I don’t mind a little longer weekend, but I would rather not have it be because I felt sick. :(

Galarraga

Now a long shot to make the rotation. The deck was stacked against him to begin with.
$ 34.5 million owed to Bonderman, Robertson, and Willis means that he’d have to be way better than those guys before the Tigers just release one of them. Then, he has an option left, then JL would like to have a lefty in there somewhere….. looks like he should be looking for an apartment in Toledo.

by Tigerdog1 on Mar 15, 2010 2:03 PM EDT reply actions

I don't, and never have, bought the "we have to play these guys because we pay them so much" argument.

Willis has barely played during his time in Detroit. I don’t think any team ever factors the pay into figuring out who to slot in.

Galarraga is bad enough on his own to miss the rotation.

What Nunez just did

what Nunez just did is EXACTLY what plagued the Tigers in 2009. They left runs on the table that were there for the taking. Second and third, one out. ANY kind of ball in play, other than a pop up, and we take the lead. He takes three called strikes, like a deer in the headlights. Total waste.

at the time they signed him. I never bought that line, but we’re still looking for two set up men, and nobody has come forward. Zumaya is reeking, Perry isn’t ready, Seay is hurt and not that good anyway, Coke looks good to me, Schlereth is a minor leaguer, who’ll step up? Thomas has to be considered.
