Whats up with Guillen
I've been following spring training pretty close and I hadn't heard much about or from him, then I seen his box score today that was 0-3 and a .154 batting avg. for the spring. Does anybody know anything wrong with him, inury or what not. He's one of our big bats we need to come through, is he just having a bad spring any insight would help. Words, Words, Words, Words, Words.

No one hit better in baseball
In Sept and Oct than Maggs. Granted his numbers were kind of empty but after the All-Star break, he showed he still had what it takes to be a good (very good) player. His BA was .310 last season and he is a career .312 hitter. Carlos. barely breaks.300 coming in at .287 career wise. If he could stay off the DL he might be able to contribute.
I would say he could do something, a switch hitter is something we could use, but he never says well long enough to do much of anything, not since 2006. He’s a 3 time all star which is hardly comparable to a 6 time All Star, 3 time Silver Slugger and a batting champ.

not to be mean or anything
but if you have to type “words” repeatedly to get to the word minimum, maybe you should think about whether what you’re posting has enough content to be a useful fan post. Try to develop your thoughts further. thanks.

Maybe next time
You could do something like including a stat line for Carlos, or linking to a couple box scores. That would probably get you close to the limit.

Didn't mean to upset you
Just wanted to know if anybody knew anything without typing a paper on a simple question.
I think
The worst case scenario is for Carlos to be healthy AND ineffective, because we would never release him, and we probably wouldn’t send him down without an injury.
A lifelong Tigers fan
I agree
He’s making $26 million over the next 2 years.. We just need to cut the cord and let him go. 26 mill can get us so much more on the free agent market after this season
Verlander.Porcello.Crosby.Scherzer.Turner: the future..?
If we cut him we still have to pay him
We’d have to trade him.

True
I forgot about the fact that we’d still have to pay him. But as far as I know it’s 26, I got the info from http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005/01/detroit-tigers_21.html
Verlander.Porcello.Crosby.Scherzer.Turner: the future..?
you are right
I stand corrected. For some reason I had it in my head it was 23m. not that it matters, he isn’t worth either amount.
