So much for getting Sizemore more at bats hitting him higher in the order! Instead we’ve got our 5th or 6th outfielder leading off instead of our starting second basemen.
I have only one response to Clete Thomas leading off...

Keep the play-by-play coming
For the sake of us stuck in class

Sizemore's throw to first not in time
Announcers say it’s Cabrera’s fault (not at the bag) McCutcheon on first
Someone want to explain the caught stealing
The iPod app description makes it seem very bizarre

three outs
And I think McCutchen either ran thru a stop sign at third or didn’t get one to begin with.
Just bought my 2010 mlb.tv package! wooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
In a long distance relationship with the Tigers--and, yes, we're doing fine.
I don't even know.
It seems rather unpossible.

I was actually looking for Samuel Jackson from Pulp Fiction…but couldn’t find a good pic that would show up on my computer here on base. Just posted it before the moment was gone.
Don't Panic!
Ahh...here we go... Yeah Google!
Jules: Well there’s this passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.” I been sayin’ that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never gave much thought what it meant. I just thought it was some cold-blooded shit to say to a motherfucker before I popped a cap in his ass. I saw some shit this mornin’ made me think twice. See now I’m thinkin’, maybe it means you’re the evil man. And I’m the righteous man. And Mr. 9 Milimeter here, he’s the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could mean you’re the righteous man and I’m the shepherd and it’s the world that’s evil and selfish. Now I’d like that. But that shit ain’t the truth. The truth is you’re the weak. And I’m the tyranny of evil men. But I’m tryin’, Ringo. I’m tryin’ real hard to be a shepherd.

this might be random but
I hope the weather on opening day is as nice as it is today… just beautiful out

boradcasters say
Bonine is a candidate for the rotation. WRONG.
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 17, 2010 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions
They must've been talking to Lynn Henning
He seems to be convinced that Bonine will make the rotation
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 17, 2010 2:43 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
I don't think it's THAT farfetched
if the season started now, I’d say he’d probably get the first shot at spot-starts
spot starts yes
being brought up from AAA.
But he will NOT be on the opening day roster, let alone the rotation
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 17, 2010 2:45 PM EDT up reply actions
ok...
so if you’re slotted as like the organization’s say 6th or 7th starter, on a team that has 1-3 set and spots 4 and 5 open for the taking, I’m okay with saying he’s in the running. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you that it won’t happen and he’ll be in AAA… but like I said it isn’t that crazy of a concept
fair enough
just a disagreement on what “in the running for the rotation” means.
to me it presupposes you have a realistic chance of starting the year on the big league roster.
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 17, 2010 2:59 PM EDT up reply actions
bwt
i’d rather have Bonine on the opening day roster than Miner.
(though I really hope neither make it and Coke take miner’s role from last year)
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 17, 2010 3:01 PM EDT up reply actions 1 recs
Miner
is the most “unclutch” player. He does well only when it doesn’t matter (hence his reasonable era)
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 17, 2010 3:07 PM EDT up reply actions
wasn't just Henning
Beck also wrote about Bonine as being the dark horse

Larish at first, Delugach at second (?) Wilkin in left
Fu Te Ni pitching and first ptich flied out to Ramirez
Call me crazy...
…but this guy was a SP before he was a Tiger and so i would not be too upset if they sent him down a notch or two to turn him into an Asian Randy Johnson.
couldn’t hurt to have some form of quasi legitimate lefty SP, right?

Crosby pops out to Ciriaco
I had no idea who was playing short, the way the announces pronounced that name.

I love how you put this
It’s that the Pirates walked our guys, not that our guys walked. That really tells you something about how much our discipline sucks.

I'm not sure you could interpret it in either direction
I have no idea how many pitches were thrown or how close the pitches were (though when one pitcher walks six, I don’t think the pitches are close; that would be the ultimate in bad luck)
