Tigers lineup
From Beck’s blog:
1. Jackson, CF
2. Damon, DH
3. Ordoñez, RF
4. Strieby, 1B
5. Guillen, LF
6. Raburn, 3B
7. Laird, C
8. Sizemore, 2B
9. Everett, SS
Looking forward
seeing how Strieby does hitting clean-up, how Sizemore plays defense, to see continued patience from A-Jax at the top of the order and some gap power from Laird (with no pop-ups!). Most importantly, however, is too see Bonderman got through 2 innings without having to throw many pitches. Finally, big days for Robertson and Galarraga, who have been stinking it up.

back-to-back homers from Ryan and Magglio!

haha, you might have something there
where on earth did that pic of Strieby come from? p.s. I can’t type his name without getting my face almost touching the monitor, trying to decide if I spelled it right. not sure what my problem is with his name.

awesome
i get to have updates on this game, as well as watching the red wings play the blackhawks at 12:30. good day for sports.

maybe in women's basketball
but how’s that hockey team doing? Has it gotten its winning % above .200 yet?
Wait. Better question. Has it gotten its winning % over .150 yet?!

I have hockey on Gameday Audio right now, although it is the Red Wings
They ARE gonna switch to baseball, right?
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 12:59 PM EST up reply actions
They just switched over
At least, on Gameday Audio they did

I hope I can stay awake for this one
it got pretty confusing yesterday when I kept snoozing

I was wide awake and still got dizzy
I think it’s the nature of these games. There’s so much shuffling around and a bunch of new names to get used to.
I was out at the library yesterday
I had a little mini-radio with me, but the signal kept coming and going so I would sometimes miss entire half-innings
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 1:11 PM EST up reply actions
I guess I should ask if anyone needs play-by-play today
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 1:10 PM EST up reply actions
hm not sure
it helps regardless though, since audio is harder to follow

He was trying to explain that the other three umpires rotate in a spring training game
He didn’t phrase it very well

This is not a cliche, but it should be
If the pitcher is gonna get lit up, it’s best that it happens early in spring training. At least it gives you time to figure out what the problem is and try to fix it.

1st Innings and Bondo don't get along...

HaHa
This is very true. Fist innings with Bondo on the mound makes me nervous

Don't call it a comeback
I’ve been here for years

this is my fault
I was out enjoying a beautiful warm UP day by taking a nice walk in short sleeves and get back and Bonderman falls apart. clearly I should spend more time in the sun!
Yea me to
Im sure he is but this is kind of bad. Oh well i guess I was just hoping for another good outing from him
Trying out that new 3rd pitch, perhaps.
:\

Screw MLB.com box score and it's lack of updates!!!!
Aaargh! I’m still stuck on “Ryan Raburn strikes out swinging.”

did bondo hang out with millwood last night?

I think Porcello spent too long in English class.
3. Rick Porcello, what do you think of being called a veteran at 21 by 18-year-old Jacob Turner? “He’s the only here to whom I am one.”
We all talk that way here

I've gotta go
write a college reccomendation letter for one of my students and if I don’t want to sound like I’m from Jersey, I can’t listen to the game while I write. GO TIGERS — hope Robertson is better than Bonderman.
by JerseyTigerFan on Mar 7, 2010 1:56 PM EST up reply actions
with maggs batting 3rd
we SHOULD see plenty of double steals (or attempts to do so)
A-Jax had 3rd base stolen no prob (according Price)
Im sure he was working....
…..on some things today though…..maybe he didnt have it either
by BennieBladesFan on Mar 7, 2010 1:58 PM EST up reply actions
Well, just because it's a cliche doesn't mean it's not true
I remember last year JV had an outing where he got shelled but he and Leyland were pleased with the results because he accomplished whatever it was he wanted to do (I don’t really that’ll be the case this time, though).
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 1:59 PM EST up reply actions
Yup....
…..we dont know…..Could have been location issues…… could have been him working on a pitch……could of been a lot of things….Only his 2nd start though.

kinda like Custer had "a little trouble"

maybe, but i HIGHLY DOUBT that
bonderman accomplishment anything more than having a rough outing under his belt.
quick rant
I’ve spent this whole weekend washing basically every article of clothing I own yet I have four mismatched socks
HOW?

Well, even though the Jays scored two runs, the bottom of the second took less than seven minutes
I know that because my microwave just beeped.
dang...we came back only to fall down again
miner is pitching badly this preseason.
in other news, leftover (and unthawed) thanksgiving turkey, velveeta mac and cheese, and peas for lunch, with the girlfriend.
and the wings are up 5-2 after datsyuk scores with 2.3 seconds left in the second.

I was thinking the same thing
But with the way Bondo pitched today, we may still be looking for a fourth
Welcome to Detroit, NO sissies allowed
yea I think
Bondo has a spot either way, but Nate is making a good case for himself today
Poor Bondo
I am sure he feels like crap after that outing ERA 20.25 .2 IP
Welcome to Detroit, NO sissies allowed
are we going to need 17 runs again?

Red Wings hanging on to a 5-4 game…

Didn't do too badly in the sixth
Got hurt a little bit by a bad play by Dlugach, but recovered to get the next batter without a run scoring

i am thinking about coming to Toledo for a game over the summer

that's kind of my plan, maybe we could go together
and you could edumacate me about the Mudhens

Hi all. Just checking in.
Looks like Robertson pitched well. Bondo not so much. Sometimes you throw the split finger, sometimes the finger spilts you. Or something.
Also, Galarraga was fairly decent, and Miner had some issues
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 3:19 PM EST up reply actions
Magglio, Strieby and Laird
have apparently all went yard. Maggs is hitting like .600 so far this Spring. Much better than last year with the WBC fiasco.
and sometimes
the split gives you the finger

Howdy
Well, the Wings one, so that makes my weekend pretty nice already.
Been following this thing through twitters – or tweets, or something. :)
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero
twitters it is, then
I like the constant updates, I just don’t know what to call them. :)
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero
who do I follow to get the updates?
not that I use that service much
Official BYB Juju Consultant...now accepting rally creature applications!
I just follow Beck and the official Tigers feed
I’m looking for what the score is when I can’t listen or watch, and a twitter is quicker than calling someone like my mom and asking what the score is and what inning it’s in. :)
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero
8-5 Jays
All the damage came against Bondo and Miner
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 7, 2010 3:33 PM EST up reply actions
at least our offense
is still kicking arse. i can deal with bondo stinking. been dealing with it for a few years now…

I saw
That he had a nightmarish first inning. Poor Bondo. :(
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero
Well
so far he’s had 1 good one and 1 bad one. He said his arm feels fine. That’s the important thing at this point.
My Guess....
….is that he may have been working on something today
by BennieBladesFan on Mar 7, 2010 3:40 PM EST up reply actions
so, has the score really not change since the...ummm...second (?) inning?
Official BYB Juju Consultant...now accepting rally creature applications!
Ajax
had a single, a walk and a steal (of 3rd!)
Sizemore had some routine defensive plays and a few lazy fly balls
by Cecil_Fielder on Mar 7, 2010 3:53 PM EST up reply actions
Well, no more Dan & Jim until next weekend
But tomorrow’s game will be on Braves radio. Just a heads-up
Yeah.
He’s scheduled to make his debut against the Tigers whenever we play the Nats. Should be awesome! I hope he does well.

A twitter question, if I might
Do you have to have data plans on your phone to use twitter, or is that all text message based?
Official BYB Juju Consultant...now accepting rally creature applications!
You can do it from texts
It’s just really clunky.
