If Kelly makes the team
If Kelly or Dlugach makes the team, I can’t see both A Jax and Cletus making it. Santiago, Avila, Raburn, and Kelly/ Dlugach would be on the bench. I don’t want Raburn as an infield option.

Boesch and Larish staying in, Casper in center

Repost from last thread: Chris Rock used this describing how the tiger that attacked Penn & Teller wasn't going crazy
"he was going tiger"
IOW the tiger did what tigers are supposed to do
you mean sigfried and roy right?
it would be news to me if penn and teller had been attacked…those two are awesome

who's at SS?
Nat’s announcers said Santiago, but that guy’s way too tall.

You know, after watching beautiful baseball on television
I don’t know if I can go back to watching boxscores update.
BTW: It looks as though Granderson finally got a hit today
1 for 3 for an .083 BA
He is done for the day though
I didn't think he'd go the entire spring without a hit, so good for him

Sabathia gave 5 ER.

Just left the game, gotta head to work..
I liked what I saw from our pitchers today and Strasburg looked solid!

Current lineup, I think
CF Wells
LF Thomas?
RF Boesch
1B Larish (guess they’re done with him at 3B)
DH Guillen
3B Kelly
C Diaz
2B Dlugach
SS Ciriaco
they have yet to win one in ST
it doesn’t count.. but still

I love when people do that....
…..ive seen enough of him to know he will be fine in CF…maybe not leadoff but he will be playing everyday.

Plus we alos had a small.....
…sample size of JV and Zumy in 06
by BennieBladesFan on Mar 9, 2010 3:25 PM EST up reply actions
It's way premature . .
. . .to complain that we always dismiss AJax’s good performances by saying “small sample size”.
Give us a couple of years, and then you might have a basis for drawing that conclusion.

My Spanish is rusty . . .
. . .but I think you just told us thaty you pleasured the Tigers . . .
by rea on Mar 9, 2010 4:54 PM EST up reply actions
Technically it means "The Tigers are pleasing to me"
But conversationally, it’s how you say you like something in Spanish.

The game tomorrow won't be broadcast?
I thought it was illegal not to broadcast every Yankees game on twelve channels.
Maybe YES is doing it just to spite us
I may peacefully coexist with the Yankees, but I have issues with the YES broadcasters

Figaro in
for Bonine. Two run double into the gap. Cletus gets the ball back in to limit the damage.
two runs score, 8- 3 Tigers.
He was real good....
….his location is just off….Stuff stil looks good

Plus hes a starter....
…coming in in relief…not easy to do
by BennieBladesFan on Mar 9, 2010 3:42 PM EST up reply actions
I remember he got shelled in the last series vs Chicago
when JL refused to start Verlander or Porcello on normal rest, and Figaro hadn’t started a game, at any level, for three months. He had been sent home to the DR, being passed over when they made the September call ups, but JL was so hell bent that he gave him a start. Best thing for him was that Cabrera went out and got drunk the night before, so folks forget Figaro’s shellacking.
are we still in the 8th or is it the 9th?

Yeah, that
I was busy dealing with this nosebleed to catch the entire name
by SabreRoseTiger on Mar 9, 2010 3:45 PM EST up reply actions
interesting tidbit
Atahualpa was the name of the last Incan emperor.
of course, he died by execution at the hands of the Spanish after being their puppet, so other than being a cool sounding name, it’s kinda like naming a kid Napoleon. meteoric rise to power, ignominious death.

Strieby
I’d imagine will be in a rotation in the OF/ DH/ 1B with Toledo.
Larish, Strieby, Boesch, Ramirez, Thomas, and Wells with five guys in that rotation that should be rotating.
Diaz
Bases loaded, 3- 1 count, and he fouls off ball four, before hitting a Texas leaguer into shallow CF. 9- 4 tigers.
what?
i’m unfamiliar with this lingo.

Sborz
Tiger pitcher of the year in the minors a year ago. Was gonna be a minor league free agent if they didn’t put him on the 40 man roster. That’s a bit different than being eligible for the Rule 5 draft, because he could’ve walked. He was free to leave if they didn’t add him.
He and Ciriaco were protected, while players like Lester Olivares, Luis Marte, Scot Drucker, and Brett Jensen were exposed in the Rule 5 draft. No matter, Robbie Weinhardt is about to streak past all of em!
nice play by boesch, though I dont know what happened

Woot!
Well played lads. Pitchers who mattered looked good. The batting lineup (minus Everett) keeps looking better and better.
A lifelong Tigers fan
Did I miss a pitching change?
From the Detroit News:
Jay Sborz put a pair of Nationals runners on base in the ninth before right-hander Cody Satterwhite arrived to shut things down, minus any scoring.
