BYB Twitter Guide
Ian is never one to let emerging social media technology get by without seeing if it might be useful in some way. For that reason, Bless You Boys was actually at the forefront of SB Nation when it came to using Facebook and Twitter to help stay in touch with fans and expand the audience a bit.
Twitter, you probably know, is basically just an IM service where everything you say is open to the public. Or else you can think of it as microblogging. Of course, some people just want to tell you about their cereal (cheerios, today, by the way) or that it's snowing in the U.P. in April again (guilty) but it actually does have some purposes, especially for the sports fan.
When it comes to breaking news, Twitter is almost certainly the first place you'll find it. Or maybe you've got an interesting statistic that doesn't really fit in there, Twitter is a great place to mention it. It could be that there's an interesting link to share. Or maybe the lineup. Or possible an observation during the game. As a tool, it's immensely useful for the news-hungry sports fan.
As well, you'll find varying levels of interactivity. You can send a message to your favorite blogger or sports writer and -- depending on the individual of course -- there's a good chance you'll hear back. Fortunately from our perspective, some in the Tigers media were early adopters of the communication tool as well.
So we fully endorse Twitter around these parts and provide this guide to people you'll want to follow, whether you've just signed up today or you've been around for awhile.
In Twitter speak, when you put @ at the start of the name, it alerts them that you sent a message. But you don't need it when looking for a profile, so I'll leave it out. I'll include links to the profiles to make it easier for you to add them.

Detroit4lyfeRob is the account I use the most. I sometimes use foul language on there, just to warn those who may be offended.
@fightnightatjoe is mine. Gives you a Norwegian perspective on the Wings and Tiger. Also links to all new posts from my Wings blog Fight Night at the Joe.
And I am waaay more profane in my language than Rob

The recap also had like 10% recap before and after the glorious BJ jokes that made up 90 % of the posts… And they were glorious…

@Baroque97
Although I aspire to be the boringest woman on twitter, I seem to not be doing well at that pursuit.

and I guess I need a disclaimer, too
I talk baseball (likely will be ranting about the Great Lakes Loons shortly, as their season has started and I will be attending games pretty regularly once the weather is nicer), hockey, and general grumbles about work, and rambles about my hobbies.
Pretty much everything.

I enjoy that account.
They chose a good, cranky and cantankerous Leyland face for their account.

Now that I’ve been sucked into Twitter vortex, I suspect I won’t be able to resist tweeting about the Tigers.

I’m surprised nobody has stolen it yet.
My Music: Some Sorta Giant
My Blog: Strike Three Mechanics
I just need to make a couple of notes:
first: Thank god for twitter lists.
second: My account covers my personal stuff, my blog, and my music. So if you’re not interested in any one of those, be prepared.
My Music: Some Sorta Giant
My Blog: Strike Three Mechanics
Thanks for this, I needed some more Tigers people to follow.
Mine’s rcpratt88, don’t really do much tweeting myself, though.
don't feel bad...
DetroitChik and Baroque willed me to do it a little while ago. It’s fun so far.
My Music: Some Sorta Giant
My Blog: Strike Three Mechanics
my baseball tweets and such are on @norunsupport
which is also linked to my other blog…
if you care to see stuff that’s more personal (and probably more boring), I’m also @allikazoo on there. I use that one a lot more, and it’s locked to friends only but obviously I’ll add any friends from BYB.

I do all my tweeting there. Kurt’s already following me as a Tiger Twitter-er. Notes on Tigers, baseball in general, broader news and interesting science finds, University of Michigan sports and other topics, board games, and the occasional random tweet.

@SabreRoseTiger
Mostly I post links to my blog posts, and occasionally I’ll ask someone a question, but if you talk to me, I’ll probably answer back.
@zajareich
I do talk sports a bit, but it’s a lot more about my life and things I find funny, interesting, ridiculous and all of the above.
My two favorite teams are the Tigers and Brewers. Drunk tigers. That sounds about right.
Me in 140 characters
I talk little baseball on my account.
Just a heads up. Also swear a fair amount. If you like Punk rock music, though, we can be the best of friends!
