MLM Recap:
Might as well take a break.
The bats couldn't get going for Armando Galarraga, who went for 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks with 8 strikeouts. Dan Schlereth had a hitless inning with 2 strikeouts, and Robbie Weinhardt gave up a hit in an inning. Brent Dlugach was 3-4 with a homer and Will Rhymes was 3-4.
Jon Kibler had a passable start- 5.2 innings, with 7 hits (2 homers) that yielded 4 earned runs with 3 strikeouts. But Jay Voss blew the save and the game by giving up 7 runs on 8 hits and a homer. The offense was decent though, as Cale Iorg was 1-4 with a homer, Justin Henry was 1-3 with a homer and Wilkin Ramirez was 2-3 with another walk.
A hard luck game for Luke Putkonen, who pitched 7, giving up 1 earned run on 6 hits and a walk with 3 strikeouts. Tyler Conn blew the game in the 9th- 1 hit, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts and an earned run. Bryan Pounds was 2-5 and Gustavo Nunez was 1-3 with a walk.
A: South Bend 4, West Michigan 2
Jade Todd went 6 innings, giving up all 4 earned runs on 8 hits (including a homer) and a walk. Wade Gaynor was 2-4 with a double.

Kinda disapointed that this was my weekend of work and I missed another Putkonen start. At 6’6…he is a giant on the mound. What are your thoughts on him? As hardcore as I am about our farm, I don’t remember hearing much about him.
In response to your inquiry on Fields I am pretty impressed so far. Don’t get me wrong he isn’t tearing it up but he has looked great. What jumps out to me the most is that the kid was in high school just over a year or so ago. He is holding his own (already) in Advanced A!
Another minor league fanatic over at Take75North was all about Rawley Bishop prior to this season. Ill tell ya what, both Bishop and Pounds are growing on me…and fast.
Has anyone caught any WhiteCaps games? Im curious what they think of Gaynor?
keep it up…
Good stuff buddy
I reeeeeeeeeally want to see Gaynor
Putkonen is a live arm with potential- provided he can stay healthy. And I think either Bishop or Pounds are old for their level, but their numbers are impressive this year.

Yeah I guess they are a bit old… Both are 25.
Still pretty exciting though
agreed on Gaynor
