I'm glad to be back to baseball.

I know we all needed an off day, but it feels good to be back to a gameday.

I also got tickets to the Yankees vs Tigers on tuesday. It will be the first game I get to this year. Living on the West Side of the state is tricky to get to games. Probably made it to 5 last year. It’s for ‘my wife’s birthday’. I wish I could be there for Ernie’s ceremonies etc on Monday, but it would not fit the schedule.

My computer internet is working! (For the moment.) My fingers were getting soooooo itchy being cut off.

If it starts going out again I will have throat lozenges on hand next time I yell at my cable people so I don’t have to stop for anything. :)

best part is

Tech is having email issues on top of the surrounding internet going out. the email client the school uses had an unexpected failure. 6.7 terrabytes of emails, got nuked (they’re backed up, but not accessible for any of us). email has been down for an entire week so far with no timetable about getting it back up.

and to think, we almost went with a GMail client instead of some place out of southeast michigan.

Bored, bottom of the line up nerdy admission time!

Last year I started a blog based on me playing an Out of the Park Baseball 10 MLB season with the Tigers.

I played every game of the season and wrote recaps because I’m that dorky. I may do it again in my downtime this year (maybe for the M’s this time).

And he’s at 47 pitches, at least something happened!

Dontrelle Willis apologist.

by 13194013 on May 7, 2010 7:37 PM EDT reply actions

Hmm..

If I can find it, there was a site dedicated to people doing this. They’d start their own season and dynasties and write about it. I was following this one for hockey. He would make his own graphics and put a recap up of every game and include photos (because you can take photos in NHL 10), and maybe some highlights every once in a while. It was pretty nifty because he started the next off season off by trading almost all of his players and grabbing a bunch of proven stars for a cup run.

Why?

It’s not like we ever squander with guys on base

by Rob Rogacki on May 7, 2010 7:51 PM EDT up reply actions

because

Cabrera is in scoring position at home plate. If he gets on fist base, he may be squander-stranded there instead of trotting around on his own for a run.

Got lost in the Dodger Stadium parking lot once.

Had a rental car. Couldn’t find it. Horrifying.

I lost my car after a Spartan football game

The MSU campus is too freakin big. I’m like "OK, I think I crossed a bridge and walked past a ball field at some point … "

Biggest in the country

and like 5 miles to anything else in East Lansing

it took me my first week as a student

to realize I needed a bus pass if I wanted to make it from one class to the other without being late…. and they were an hour apart.

by Kurt Mensching on May 7, 2010 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions

another reason I'm glad I chose Michigan

free buses, classes I could walk to. They don’t tell you that stuff until after you get there (and start paying them)

I didn't like ann arbor or U of M's campus

and decided I liked the idea of attending college in a giant park instead.

Which should make sense since I love living in the UP.

I like Ann Arbor

except when I’m driving. I had to get away from Lansing and MSU. Knew way too many people, especially ones my parents knew.

by Rob Rogacki on May 7, 2010 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions

hated AA nearly instantly

decided there was no way I could spend 5 years there.

To each his own

I know lots of people that aren’t fans of how the town/campus is set up. I can’t say that I love the actual town, just the campus area.

good idea

I know too many people who ignored their first impressions, were unhappy, and transferred later anyway. Need to pick the right school for each individual.

Jeje, me too.

We parked under a Coca Cola sign. “Remember,” we told each other, “we are parked under the Coca Cola sign.” We came out after the game and realizd the stadium was ringed by Coca Cola signs.

I think they suck less

than cable companies. Plus I had NFL Sunday ticket for a weekend once. That was pure heaven.

DirecTV bass turds won't fix their broken HD dish without charging me!

Either $ 45 to come out or $ 5.95 a month for the service plan.

Since when was Kearns hitting over .300?

Isn’t this the guy who struggled to hit .150 the last two years?
