Blame Canada: Tigers lose Ordonez and Guillen in 3-2 loss to Blue Jays

Maybe we should blame Gene Lamont too?
The Tigers squandered a chance to gain a game on the White Sox tonight, losing to the Blue Jays 3-2. But the loss takes a back seat to injury news. Two of the Tigers' most important players went down tonight.
Magglio Ordonez fractured his right ankle, will miss at least 6-8 weeks....and his $15 million guaranteed for 2011 may have gone missing as well.
Carlos Guillen left midway through the game, thanks to a strained right calf. First reports say Guillen is day to day...for the time being. It's not been confirmed. Remember, we're talking about baseball's Glass Joe here...
I'm sure Ordonez will be placed on the DL by tomorrow, joining Joel Zumaya and Brandon Inge...and Bobby Seay and Zach Miner. The Tigers have to play a day/night doubleheader tomorrow. They are literally running out of capable players. The Tigers will have to lean even more heavily upon their rookies and youngsters...most of whom have never been in a pennant race.
Not that the Tigers will be a pennant race for that much longer.
With Ordonez and Guillen out, Boesch slumping, the Tigers' offense is entirely on the shoulders of Austin Jackson and Miguel Cabrera...and there's no one else stepping up. The rotation is Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and nothing but question marks in the next three slots...including Rick Porcello, who was only OK tonight.. (6 IP, 5 H, 4 BB, 3 R, 0 K)
I know I'm usually the "glass half full" blogger here at BYB. But I'm going to be blunt. Without Magglio Ordonez, the Tigers are in trouble. Deep, deep trouble.
So I have only one thing to say... EVERYBODY PANIC!!!

Gene Lamont
You can’t blame Lamont, if Miggy is at third watching the play at the plate, you probably already should have scored, this sounds more like a player not telling the coach how hurt he is and trying to tough it out, only to hurt his team even more.
It's not stopping Tigers fans from channeling Fred Sanford...

The "Everybody Panic" thing
Reminds me of Weezer’s music video for “Keep Fishin”.

Daniel Fields is better than you.
Bummed about Ordonez,
but Guillen is painful to watch at second base. He cost us at least one run and looked horrible on that double play attempt. One good thing is maybe we get to see Wilken, Strieby, and Larish get a shot. Tough choices ahead for DD.
So I'm guessing
Larish being called up. Him and Kelly at 3rd. Sizemore is the starting 2nd basemen. I have no idea who they are calling up for Maggs. Guessing Strieby but who knows
Larish and Rhymes

Yeah, basically
I may have been clairvoyant about bad things coming from this game, but in that case, I just repeated Beck’s tweet. Should have specified that. Sorry.

I kind of still want to go after Haren.
Maybe not at the original asking price, but I’d love to add that legit #2 and make our 1-2-3 one of the best in the league both short term and long term.

Haren's young enough and under contract long enough to qualify.

i Knoq im all for Haren
i was just saying, those rumors of Lowell and Baustia and Lilly are all pretty much dead now
Which is understandable.
A lot of those would be putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.
Then again, Twins lost Morneau and somehow won the division.

that's because the Twins are evil demoniods
They used the dark side of the force to keep winning even without Morneau/

Picked the wrong game to come home for.
Ouch. Radio already had all the Maggs Last Game In Tiger Uniform stuff. Would not want to be DD this week. Tough job. Probably too many holes to plug to stay in the race.
