Ryan Perry activated by Detroit, Toledo Blade reports
Reliever Ryan Perry will be activated from the disabled list, the Toledo Blade reports (via a tweet from Jason Beck). Perry struck out two in one inning of work tonight in making his third rehab appearances with the Triple-A Mud Hens. In his previous two, he walked four in 2-2/3 innings of work.
Perry went on the disabled list on June 10 (retroactive to June 7) after experiencing tightness in his biceps. Enrique Gonzalez was the corresponding move at that time.
As the Tigers haven't made an official announcement of this yet, we don't know who will be removed from the active roster. I'd guess Gonzalez except for the fact he's got a 1.74 ERA in 10 1/3 innings of work. But he did walk five, so that might not be looked upon favorably.
Any guesses?

At first, I was shocked you said Gonzales
But really, we don’t have much choice… Bonine and Thomas are absolutely necessary as long term relievers, Coke and Valverde are our centerpieces of the pen, and Schlereth and Fien haven’t been here long enough to send down again. It’s a shame, because I really like Gonzales… maybe we bring him back up later once we see more of Schlereth and Fien.
Gonzalez is more than capable of being a long man
He started in Toledo.
Gonzalez or Fien
Probably Gonzalez.

I would have chose Fien or Thomas over Enri-K.
Oh well, just glad that Perry is back! Hopefully Ryan takes advantage of this opportunity.

Raburn or Rayburn, take your pick.
But one of them needs to leave.

Thomas
Thomas seems to be the guy Leyland has the least confidence, then Gonzalez moves in as a long man.
I don't know, Leyland seems to lean on him a lot
He’s no wizard on the mound but he’s chewed up some innings when they need him to.

Jay Sborz
I bet it’s Jay, which is too bad because I’d like to see what he’scapable of. But he’s one of the safest options, so he’ll probably head back to Toledo.

Holy moley...thanks for the update.
Sorry, I was in Miami for a business trip. At least I missed most of the road trip losses. I didn’t mean to spout off without knowing. Sorry.
