MLM Recap: Cale Iorg hits (no, really) as Erie trumps Bowie
First, a list of roster moves from Matt Wallace. The big news is the injury to Giovany Soto- strained elbow. I don't like the sound of it, and I hope he stays in the trainer's room long enough to have it heal entirely.
Edit: forgot about Alli's great Mudhens pictures, located here. Give em a look.
Hooray! A win streak! Ryan Ketchner was only able to go 4.2 innings, and he gave up 4 runs on 10 hits with 5 strikeouts in that span of time. Josh Rainwater quashed the fire (heh, bad pun) by pitching 3.1 innings of shutout ball, walking 1 and allowing 2 hits with 3 strikeouts. Jay Sborz finished the game out with a hitless inning, striking out 1. Jeff Larish was 1-3 with 2 walks and a double.
Brooks Brown went 6 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. Cale Iorg was 3-5 with a double and a triple and Deik Scram was 4-4 with 2 doubles and a walk.
Brayan Villareal got knocked around in 5 innings of work. He gave up 4 earned runs on 9 hits (1 homer) with 4 strikeouts. Gustavo Nunez was 2-4 with a double.
A: South Bend 7, West Michigan 5
Nate Newman did okay. He went 5.1 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits and 2 walks with 3 strikeouts. Jeff Rowland was 3-5 with a double and Michael Rockett was 3-5.
SS: Connecticut 4, Batavia 2 (10 innings)
Brennan Smith went 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits (one homer) and 4 strikeouts. James Robbins was 3-4 with a double and a walk and Chao Ting Tang was 3-3 with a double and a walk.

There is no such thing as a bad pun
The bigger the groan, the better the pun. This is BYB, after all.

Rec'd for guessing correctly.
I just joined twitter, so I’m making liberal use of the ironic hashtag.
Bummer about Soto I saw that a few days ago.
Awesome pics Alli, I love that stadium. The restaurant accross the street is trick too.

And the Gulf Coast League Tigers
walked off against the GCL Blue Jays on the strength of some nice pitching from Kyle Ryan and Fernando Celis. After striking out his first three times, Dominican RF Steven Moya knocked in paisano Samir Rijo in the bottom of the ninth to break a 1-1 tie.
Casey Crosby last pitched for the Tigers on the 3rd (3.1IP, 7ER, 9H, 2BB), so maybe he’s pitching tonight. I really don’t know. If anybody does, it sure would be nice to hear about.

If they’re both at home, it’s going to be hard. Erie is a good four hours (maybe more) from Toledo. If the Hens are at Lehigh Valley or the Wolves are in Akron, it’s probably a bit more doable. The Hens do quite a few night games on Sundays so they can have fireworks afterward.

Thanks for the info
didn’t consider away games as a possibility. But isn’t Lehigh Valley somewhere around Philly?
