SWEEEEEEEP.

OK, I don't really know much else to say, I was out of town for the day. Justin Verlander gave up seven hits and a walk in eight strong innings, while striking out eight. so that's pretty good.

The starting pitching was actually excellent for the series. Max Scherzer and Armando Galarraga went seven innings apiece, and each of them  had eight strikeouts as well.

On the other side of the ledger, rookies Austin Jackson and Will Rhymes accounted for six of the Tigers' 12 hits. Rhymes went 4-for-5 with a double. Jhonny Peralta only had one hit, but he snared three RBI. Brennan Boesch even doubled in a pair of runs!

With the Indians out of the way, Detroit now moves on to the Royals. KC has a 5-4 record in the season series, so it's time to get that lead to the right team's side!

yahbut

It’s time to lose three if the win-lose-win-lose sequence holds. I say he sits still for a couple of series.

woooooooooooooooooooo Let's keep winning.

Like….every game until the end. Okay? okay.

In a long distance relationship with the Tigers--and, yes, we're doing fine.

Will Rhymes

Does anyone else love to watch Will Rhymes play? I find it hard not to root for him. He’s a scrapper, plays 110% all the time.

Will Rhymes is the reason I watch these games now.

I will always love anyone who turns down med school to play baseball. It helps that he’s good at it, too.

a couple gamethreads back (or maybe more than a couple), i said that if he can stick in the bigs and be productive (granted, two relatively large ifs), he’d make a strong case to be my tiger.
