MLM Recap: Rob Brantly walks twice, singles as West Michigan trounces Great Lakes
Today was Charlie Furbush's turn in the rotation, and he pitched fairly well in his 5.1 innings of work, allowing a mere 2 runs on 7 hits (one a homer) and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts. Cale Iorg was 1-4 with a double and 3 strikeouts. Scott Sizemore was at second today, as well.
Lets not talk about how Brooks Brown got shelled. Lets talk instead about how Robert Waite stepped up in relief, throwing five innings of one-hit, one-run (unearned) ball with five strikeouts. The hitting wasn't quite up to par however, and Erie's attack was led by the newly promoted John Murrian (2-for-4 with a double) and the old standby Bryan Pounds (1-4 with a triple).
A+: Lakeland vs. Tampa DNP (games canceled due to inclement weather)
A: West Michigan 5, Great Lakes 2
Luis Angel Sanz went 7.1 innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Clay Jones and Jeff Rowland were both 2-for-4 and Rob Brantly was 1-for-2 with two walks.
SS: Tri-City 10, Connecticut 2
Miguel Mejija went 3.2 innings in relief, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out four. Alexander Nunez was 2-for-4 with a double.

"Cale Iorg was 1-4 with a double and 3 strikeouts."
Now, an optimist would see the double.
I, being a realist, see the 3 strikeouts.

Wondering
Is Murrian on the fast track for a September call-up/audition for next year?
It's possible
