Tigers in Toronto: A BYB Gathering?
I'm a Tiger fan in Toronto -- grew up on the Canadian side of the river, close to Port Huron. (Pretty lonely times in the early '90s, the only Tiger fan in my high school, when the Jays were winning the World Series. But enough about my troubles.)
Toronto is a fun, cosmopolitan, clean, relatively safe city which is an easy 4-hour drive from the Metro Detroit area. Our beer is delicious, our nightlife is vivacious, and hey, there's apparently a baseball team still here, who the Tigers are going to visit this upcoming weekend! Imagine that.
I was thinking, if there are any BYBers who are (a.) in the Toronto area already, or (b.) are considering making the trip, we could convene a gathering and make a fun evening or afternoon out of the whole thing. I'd be willing to coordinate stuff, so if you'd like to see this happen, and you want to be a part of it, email me at frisbeepilot at gmail dot com, and/or post stuff here. I promise that nobody will force you to pronounce the last letter of the alphabet "zed," or pledge your allegiance to Anne Murray, or watch a Beachcombers marathon -- although you're free to do so. You will, however, be forced to refer to the stadium as "SkyDome." That's not negotiable.
I'm also thinking, cheap tickets would be just fine by me. Thursday and Friday are 7pm starts, and the weekend games both start at 1pm; Sunday is Dave Stieb Bobblehead Day, for the record. I plan on going to all four games.
Buddy, c'mon! Let's do 'er on up, eh?

I've always wanted to visit Canada...
and test out my impression of a Canadian. But alas, a deli worker makes very little money.
Maybe I shoulda tested my impression out on you at the original meetup, eh?

lol.
actually frisbeepilot taught me that one. “Eh” is a great conversation starter since it basically requires a response. You can say “It’s hot out.” or you can say “It’s hot out, eh?” You see? you are now in conversation.
I thank my Canadian brother for giving me the tools to be more of a people person.
You're a Sarnian, too?
Toronto is lousy with 519ers.

Not from Sarnia...
…but my parents worked there. Grew up in a little town about a half-hour southeast.
