Ok not to act like a reasonable adult or anything but even if we lose today you cant
seriously act like you were pissed off about this years team. If after our 3-7 start you would tell me we would win our first division title since 87 pick up a diamond in the rought pictcher from seatlle, have a catcher that can actually hit. Have a good hitting rotation behind Miggy, and JV throws a no hitter wins 24 games and wins a Cy and possibly a MVP. I would have been very pleased and it was also cool beathing the yanks in their own ball park.
We will not lose today.

If the Tigers lose today
I have not been happy with the offense in the playoffs, but Boesch, DY, VMart, Avila, & Maggs are all hurt. But our pitching has been fantastic in the playoffs. Oh, and our core group of players will still be here next year.

There’s an interesting analysis of the value of a WAR somewhere, I can’t find at the moment. But it’s less if you’re a non-contending team, peaks if you’re a barely contending team, and goes down again if you’re a certain contender (ahem, Yanks). Cashman is smarter than previous Yanks GMs though.

I don't know what the right time is to say this
But I just to go on record saying that I am not going to be one of those fans who says in April that all they want is to be relevant in September and then in September (and much less in October) is ready to burn down the stadium if we don’t win the Series. I want to win as much as the next fan, but if this is the end of the road, it has been a great road and I will have wonderful memories of Tigers 2011.

They did not, but that’s because it was on the border with Wisconsin, and their “twin city” on the other side had a Brew Crew affiliate.
