- The Rangers scored a run in the 1st inning on a Josh Hamilton sacrifice fly. In related news, Ian Kinsler is getting really annoying.
- Alex Avila (yes, you read that right) tied the game in the 3rd inning with a solo home run to left.
- Delmon Young decided to prove me wrong when I said that he shouldn't be playing by hitting a solo homer in the 4th to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
- Inefficient Justin Verlander is rearing his ugly head. He's thrown 63 pitches through 4 innings (18 of those were in the first).

Having gone to plenty of Mud Hens games this year, I can tell you that he's also REALLY quick when it comes to getting out of the way of foul line drives.

BV is incredibly fast to first base
but like pitching, has to work on the control a bit. A couple of really wild throws sailed past Miggy when he was up. Don’t know if that was normal.

I didn't see him throw anything away while in Toledo (at least, not that I can remember)
I don’t think he successfully picked off anyone, although I obviously didn’t see every game he was in, and there were a couple instances where the call could’ve gone either way

I can't complain with JVs game so far
However the offense has let the tigers down all series
Lock Jacob Turner up until 2012
The difference today is that CJ Wilson is actually pitching very well
something no Ranger starter has done this series, IMO

Have they tried one bunt down the third baseline since he hurt his knee the other day?
How many pitches will Ver go at this point?
He is already at 96. 120? 130? Still have the 6 – 9th innings at best that need to be pitched and the pen is no where are deep at Texas and it looks like Wilson is is going to got at least into the 6th or 7th.
Do they start warming up someone in the pen next inning? Curious what you guys think at this point.

but how many pitches is that? He’s now thrown 4,184 pitches, 2nd most by AL pitcher in wild card era. Clemens (‘96) had 4280 (according to one of the Texas media guys prior to today’s start).

I'm really surprised the Tigers
have allowed AJax to stay with the leg kick, especially w/ 2 strikes. He would be better served by spreading out and taking either a smaller step or no stride at all. It’s had to have been a point of discussion at some time this year, no?
I know Ajax uses it for timing purposes, but it has not had the desired effect. His contact percentage is just terrible.
