anyone else surprised to see
the lack of Tigers on the list? I’m not…
Here are the other Tigers on the list:
Avila: 8th in C
Fister: 11th in P
Binge: 14th in 3B
Boesch: T-20th in LF
not really
The team isn’t known for its defense. I wouldn’t expect to see a bunch of hitters from a team known for pitching and defense on a list of sluggers, either.
I hope that the people who grumble about how Jackson would be better if he dove for more balls will shut their yaps for a while after this.

Had Denard Span as the best CF in MLB. Okay …
Justin can now let the fungus grow back on his shower shoes.
Jhonny Peralta still gets no love
Not that it matters, but he had the 4th best UZR and 3rd best fielding pct among Shortstops. So what the voters are saying is that his fielding stats are a huge outlier. What a bunch of hypocrites. I wish they’d just do away with these 3rd grade fielding stats until they figure out how to make them reliable, regardless of sample size. /end rant
At least they give AJax some credit.
Uh . . .
. . . there are no stats that are reliable , regardless of sample size.

RZR measures the percentage of balls hit to a given zone that are turned into outs.
When you have a large enough sample size, that is a very reliable stat, IMO.

Yes there is
It’s called FIF. Fielding Independent Fielding. It’s a measure of how many sunflower seeds you can fit in your mouth without choking.
