PrintThe only series that matters takes the day off, being today was a scheduled travel day for the Tigers and Yankees.
But there's win or go home action in the NL tonight, starting at 6:07 eastern in St. Louis. As always, we give you a thread to talk about the evening's action.
Roy Oswalt gets the start for the Phillies, while Tigers ex-pat Edwin Jackson takes the mound for the Cardinals. The favored Phils lead the series 2-1 and will try to close out the Cards on the road.
The nightcap has the 1st pitch scheduled for 9:37 EDT. The pitching matchup is Randy Wolf for the Brew Crew, Joe Saunders for Gibby's D-backs. The D-backs staved off elimination last night, and hope to even the series at home.

got a good chance Friday with Carpenter pitching.
I’m kinda torn. I’d like to see the D-Back with the Tram/Gibby combo make it to the Classic, but Millwaukee would be a good series for the Great Lakes (assuming of course Detroit makes it there)

I remember a lot of that series. Including young Miggy (I was a Marlins fan growing up). Also, Kerry Wood hit a homerun in game seven.

3 of 4 series have now gone down to game 5
and no series swept. Seems there is a lot of parity in baseball. Not what I was expecting after the All Star break. The WS seems a complete toss-up right now.
