Yea, I like Sandy though
If he didn’t have to put up with the contracts and the money situation, I think he can turn them around if he survives through all that
HUGE mess.
The law suit against their owners is for more than $ 1 billion, there are additional charges coming from the Court appointed trustee (just the fact that their assets are held by a trustee). MLBTR reports today that they’re thinking of giving up on Oliver Perez (ya think?) and they’re worried about K Rod’s $ 17.5 million option vesting if he finishes 55 games this season……
I think it’s safe to say that the award for most bad contracts has passed to the Mets. Sandy Alderson is asking himself “what did I just step in?”

I will try calling Comerica, once the season starts, but I was hoping to get something for Opening Day

that he can’t sustain the high BABIP
However, that high line drive percentage is no fluke and he should maintain a high BABIP just because of that. To maintain a solid OBP, he’ll have to convert some K’s to hits or BB’s. It’s more a matter of what NOT to swing at.

Worth should have run on contact
I always wonder what LaMont is doing in those situations.
BB put the ball in play. If the runner has a decent lead, he’s off. Make them make a play, rather than take your chances with the next hitter- odds are against scoring later.
I don't care what the Chinese say, 2011 is the Year of the Tiger!
Espcially with the bobble at 1st
He probably would have scored fairly easily on that play.
However, with it being spring I can kinda see not doing anything in that situation since there is a slightly higher chance of getting hurt on a bang bang play at the plate.
that's what I was thinking
hate to see an injury in that situation

I think you play it like you would during the season.
The question is whether you have the runner move on contact. Are the odds better running on contact on a ball hit in the infield, or scoring later with two outs? I say go, and I also say that LaMont is a human stop sign. But that’s just me :)
I don't care what the Chinese say, 2011 is the Year of the Tiger!
I agree to a point
In the regular season you might charge the catcher, but in spring that is considered bad form. There has to be a point where you say “OK, these games don’t mean anything lets not take the risk of hurting anyone”.
About LaMont…yeah he would have had him standing there regardless….unless of course it was Maggs.z

Yeah, the ol brain loses it's sharpness over the winter months!
I don't care what the Chinese say, 2011 is the Year of the Tiger!
Okay, Brendan Wise looks familiar
And I don’t mean like I don’t know him, because I’ve actually met him before. It’s like the Chipper Jones thing. He’s reminding me of someone else, and I can’t figure it out.

ahaha
the announcers just said that kenny rogers helped the tigers win a world championship. i think their memories are shot
also, RHYMES!
I Like Pie
Haha, I missed the first part of that conversation and wasn't sure who they were talking about
I thought they were talking about the guy who walked with the bases loaded going to the Tigers and winning a World Series.

Bad work all the way around in the 8th
Wise putting runners on
Worth hurrying the throw
Thorman tripping over himself on a one hop throw
And Rhymes shows em how it’s done to finish the inning

First time on BYB mobile
And it’s a good time, to boot!
Rhymes can really put himself ahead of Worth in the 2B competition here

I'm gradally changing my mind about Boesch
I kinda think that it would be hard for JL to pass him up, even if he’s not starting in LF, if he hits well enough this spring. I mean, how do you keep a Donnie Kelly and a Wells or Cletus if Boesch is hitting? The combination of Santiago, Rhymes, Kelly, and Wells or Thomas isn’t very enticing. BB gives another solid bat if he’s even a fraction of what he did when he was hitting last year.

Refresh my memory
Do they play extras? I seem to recall playing a 10th and then leaving it a tie. Am I making that up?

Generally that's what happens, but sometimes they'll call it after nine

Depends who's doing the knowing
And to whom he is being compared
In my book, he’s pretty average, right there with Sizemore

What the he'll?!
Does anyone want the 2B job?
