T-minus 1 day until
the 2011 baseball season is upon us!! The Tigers make their run toward a 2011 AL Central Title but it won't be easy. The White Sox offense is potent 1-9, and if Peavy is healthy their rotation is good as well. The Twins get Joe Nathan back and paired up with Matt Capps to finish games out might be one of the best set up/closer combos in the bigs (Although they will split time at closer to begin the season). Morneau played in the last few spring training games and looks to be ready for opening day. They also re-signed Jim Thome and signed Japanese star infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka. Danny Valencia is the new starting 3B, the young prospect had a good 2nd half of the season with the Twins after being called up in 2010. It's going to be a battle all summer long and what sums it up best for me, in the words of Bart Scott, "CAN'T WAIT"!!

I advised my students...
…that I may end up putting on the game tomorrow afternoon. (It’s a half-day anyway, not like we’re going to get much done, right?) I’m in Jays-land, so I’m sure there’ll be plenty of Yankees-haters around to help cheer!
2011 AL Central
race begins TODAY!! I’m a huge Tigers fan but for some reason I just don’t have a good feeling about this year….I feel like we’re just too slow, Jackson is the only guy that can get on base and make things happen consistently. Cabrera only consistent power guy, a lot of no power-no speed average hitting players. V-Mart is good and Raburn will be good, I have no faith in the rest…..no speed=why we either lead the league or are near the top in men left on base every year. White sox have Pierre,Rios, and Ramirez mixed with Dunn,Konerko, and Quentin and the Twins hit for average and play the best defense in the game…..I’m reluctantly pessimistic about this year.
