Charlie Furbush allowed a three-run home run in the sixth inning of the Tigers' loss to the Orioles.
Rick Porcello allowed just one hit in three innings on the mound and Ryan Strieby homered in the ninth inning, but the Tigers couldn't maintain an early lead and fell 6-2 to the visiting Orioles. Porcello struck out one.
Jose Valverde had a clean fourth inning on the mound, but Charles Furbush struggled a bit in the sixth. After giving up a hit and a walk, he allowed a two-out home run to Nolan Reimold. Al Alburquerque gave up a home run to Michigan native Jake Fox in the eighth inning as well. Fu-Te Ni struck out one and allowed no hits in an inning and a third in relief.
The Tigers managed to work five hits and four walks off the Orioles pitchers. Andy Dirks doubled and scored in the first inning for the Tigers' only other highlight at the plate. He crossed the plate when the Orioles misplayed a Brennan Boesch infield pop fly into a single.
