Joel Zumaya moved to 60-day disabled list
Via the ever omnipresent Jason Beck:
Joel Zumaya’s latest visit with Dr. James Andrews is scheduled for today, but the Tigers got the procedural portion of his injury out of the way already by transferring the hard-throwing but oft-injured right-hander from the 15- to 60-day disabled list.
I can't say I'm surprised, but I am greatly disappointed. Could this be the beginning of the end of Zoom's career in Detroit? This move also opens up a spot on the 40 man roster, who gets it remains to be seen.

Most likely call ups, if they go that route....
Andy Dirks, who’s only hitting .200 after his sizzling spring
Adam Wilk, one of the last cuts made in Lakeland. Love to see him replace Brad Thomas.
Might also be a trade in the works.

I dont think anyone will replace Brad Thomas
Leyland loves him…
Go for it

It'll be an arm that isn't on the roster
Fu Ti Ni, maybe.

I could support this.

That sucks ass...
Joel Zumaya would’ve been great in our bullpen..
Go for it
AlAl = Zumaya 2.0
I’ll trade a touch less velocity for 70 healthy innings.
Lets hope he can control his fastball.

It's been one appearance
And Al^2 doesn’t have the same minor league history that Zumaya has.

Ah
Missed the second one. My fault there.
Point still remains. I hope he works out, and he certainly has the stuff to work out. But don’t bank on him quite yet.

Control issues
not quite Denny Bautista, but in the neighborhood

To be fair it's been two appearances
I’m with ya though David…
Albert has been solid SO FAR and I’m crossing my fingers. However, he has a long history of control problems. Seriously his walks are out of hand. I’m quite pleased thus far though. Hopefully his success continues, we need him!

This may be a flexibility thing as well
To be honest, Zumaya won’t be ready to pitch until the end of May even if he is healthy.

I like AL Too
He has a plus slider and fastball that he throws for strikes. Cant argue with that.

Too Bad
Though I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. Such a shame to think what Joel could’ve been for us. Hopefully he can get back but he can’t stay healthy and he isn’t getting any younger.
Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual
This move, as a practical matter, means very little
Zoomer had been shut down and was scheduled to see Dr. Andrews. The fact that he wasn’t even in a throwing/ rehab program yet is a clear indication that he was nowhere near ready to return. Still, the move is typically made if and when a spot is needed on the 40 man roster.
