May Open Thread
Before we get too far into the month, let me put this up as our space to post all the other stuff that is not baseball related. We've got some graduates this May, don't we? Let us know your plans. Kentucky Derby picks anyone? Don't forget that Sunday is Mothers Day -- if you're lucky enough to have Mom still around, be sure to get her something nice. The rest of us will just make do with great memories.
And in honor of Kurt's new puppy Donner, here's a video I love:

Yep, it can get real good.
We tell everyone what’s going on, ask for advice, even have conversations. It’s like a game thread, but without a chance of a loss!

Something tells me that in a battle of dog vs lake the lake would win.

One of my dogs does similar
She is doesn’t like to go into the ocean too much, although she will follow me in. She HATES the waves and tries to attack them.
Pretty funny when a really big one comes in over her head and to watch her run out after then attack with renewed fury.
Well...
I’m almost done with my first year of college…………..

So, about my golf game...
Have you ever played a lot of golf and hit a lot of good shots…then, when you add up the numbers, it’s an awful score? This is my 2011 golf season so far.
I’ve played the other way as well, where you don’t feel like you’re playing very well, but somehow claw your way to respectability. Most of the time, you play bad and score bad or vice versa. It’s been a strange year.
Perhaps, I’ll be the Justin Verlander of the golf course tonight. Until the no-hitter, Verlander had pitched pretty well in April without seeing a lot of W’s. Chalk me up for 2 under in league tonight.

I usually shoot about an 80 or so
which isn’t too bad for nine holes, really.

What is the exchange rate?
I’m sure it adjusts nicely state-side.

R.I.P. Harmon Killebrew....
A great ballplayer and by all accounts a classy man. You will be missed.
But has anyone here ever heard of or participated in a drinking game called “Harmon Kill-A-Brew?” No, seriously, I’d like to know.
