Game 103 Afterglow: Tigers at White Sox
What happened:
- Rob went to the Nationals game, where they proceeded to get flattened by former Tigers Omar Infante and Burke Badenhop.
- Alli posted a very adequate overflow in my absence (please don't hurt me!)
- Justin Verlander pulled a boss move on the White Sox, no matter the scoreline.

Everything the manager does is crap. Unless it works, in which case he's a button pusher.

Tigers have gotten to 7 games over .500..
5 times this year, they are 0-5 in the next game. That streak ends tomorrow.
Twinkiecast
They just referred to Cruz getting nicked on the jersey as a “Brandon Inge special”
so they ADMIT that they lost the division in 09, AHA!

HAHA
Now don’t they wish they had done something with their ill-gotten win in that game! Stupid sweepable Twinkies.

I always like to point out to people..
that for all the Twins division titles since 2001, the Tigers have won more playoff series than they have.
Hell, I’m pretty sure the Tigers have won more individual playoff games than the Twins have.

When's the last time the Twinks won a playoff series?

yes.
They made the ALCS in 2002, beat Oakland in ALDS, lost to Anaheim.
They’ve won 1 series and 6 GAMES total in their last 6 playoff trips.

flag on my response...
I still had my original 2001 timeline in mind.
We’ve won more individual playoff games (8 to 6) and series (2 to 1) since 2001.

Rotoworld on Betemit
Wilson Betemit went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Tigers topped the White Sox 5-4 on Tuesday.
Betemit has at least one hit in all four of his starts since he was acquired from the Royals last week. The 29-year-old corner infielder has produced a cool .283/.342/.406 line this season. As Detroit’s starting third baseman, he will have solid AL-only value from here on out.

Avila has really cooled off
He and AJax are sucking wind lately.
Would not blame JL for resting him 2X a week for a bit, Maggs DH, RR in the OF.
Maybe any LHP for the time being. An increased load like he’s had at that position is grueling, esp for a big guy.

I remember watching a Tigers game earlier in the year on WGN.
I busted out laughing when Konerko flew out to the warning track and Hawk just yelled “DAD GUMMIT” and then said nothing else for like 30 seconds.

My camera did some really strange things tonight
Like, I was trying to get pics of Brayan Villarreal and Max St. Pierre returning to the dugout from the bullpen, and for some reason it backlit the field (I guess I was too close to them) so the infield dirt in the background is bright brown and BV and Max look like they’ve had all the color sucked out of them.
