- Maggs hit a 2-run homer in the first to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
- Dirks had an RBI groundout in the 2nd, but the Tigers only scored 1 run despite having the bases loaded with no outs.
- V-Mart and Peralta both had RBIs in the 3rd inning.
- Rick Porcello has been nickeled and dimed all night to the tune of 3 runs through 5 innings.
- Chris Getz was tossed at the end of the 5th inning after grounding out.
- Ryan Raburn fouled a ball off of his face.
