OK I will say it
Giving Leyland a contract extention was the worse thing that could have happened. Leyland has automatically reverted to his old self. What in the hell is he thinking given the chance to bury the Indians and he sits Peralta, Guillen, and Jackson. I can understand benching Jackson but not Peralta and Guillen. Lets face it Dirks, Raburn , and Santiago does not exactly strike fear into any pitcher in the history of the game. His lineups just doesn’t cut it. Ordonez should be hitting 6th or 7th but not 3rd. Boesch should be the 3 hole hitter. After Porcellos outing tonight I am about to agree with the nay sayers SAME OLE TIGERS
Earlier yesterday
Leyland: “Porcello, get in here!”
Rick: “Yeah, coach?”
JL: “I’ve got your game plan for tonight.”
RP: “OK?”
JL: “Yeah. I just got my contract extension, so I want you to pitch like crap tonight.”
RP: “Oh, good. Thanks, Skip. I’d been giving it extra effort through July because I was worried about your contract status, it’ll be good to take a night off.”
JL: “Yeah, exactly. I’m thinking maybe you give up eight or so earned runs, groove it in there really well so that they get a bunch of extra-base hits, I’ll pull you in the fourth and hand it over to the bullpen that had to pitch pretty much the entire game last night.”
RP: “Sounds good. I’ve got that new Head & Shoulders shampoo that Joe Mauer advertises, so I’ve been looking forward to a shower sooner than usual this evening. #HatsoffDET!”
JL: “Awright, good plan. Get out there and really stink up the joint.”
RP: “Will do, Skip. Congratulations again on the extension, a lot of us in the locker room were worried that we’d have to play hard for the whole second half. Glad we have that off our minds and can start concentrating on golf. Verlander’s especially happy, he’s getting really sick of all the Cy Young discussion and was hoping to be able to turn in a couple of stinkers this month and get some good development in on his hotfoot technique.”

Apparently, BB sprained his thumb in Tuesday night's game
tried to play, but it bothered him too much.

X-rays negative on Boesch. MRI tomorrow, but thinking right now is it’s not serious. Boesch won’t rule out tomorrow, but unlikely. #Tigers
Also a word on Victor

In other #Tigers injury news, V-Mart confirmed he tweaked his knee a little bit running out infield hit, but said he’s all right.
