At this point
I’m glad to have the roster spot
Charlie Sheen Night at CoPa: everyone has their Tiger Blood and Coke is a free mixer.
And -0.5 wins

He'll be fine
Hed pass right through it—walking is his specialty.
He may have to try four times to get through the doorway though….
Charlie Sheen Night at CoPa: everyone has their Tiger Blood and Coke is a free mixer.
Maybe it's because
Purcey and the strike zone was a guaranteed hit…if he could ever find it.
Charlie Sheen Night at CoPa: everyone has their Tiger Blood and Coke is a free mixer.
Can you put a tigers hat on him for that photo
and change it from GTFO to GONE?
Charlie Sheen Night at CoPa: everyone has their Tiger Blood and Coke is a free mixer.
It has a different connotation now
Instead of him telling others to GTFO, we are telling him to GTFO.
I bet your biggest decision today was if you should get your lunch Super-Sized or not.

Good move.
How ’bout that Sizemore deal!
(had to)
I don't care what the Chinese say, 2011 is the Year of the Tiger!
So your saying there's a chance!
That he may not be on this team within the next 10 days?!?!
I pray to god some GM is dumb enough to pick him up

I may be in the minority here,
but i thought Purcey did great—BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!! couldn’t even get through the whole sentence without cracking up.
seriously though, he sucks and will not be missed.
More importantly, is this a precursor to another move, and if so, what is it?
ahhh yes
forgot about Pauley. Hope he’s better than Purcey [fingers crossed]

Well Pauley walks TWO less per 9 than Purcey over his career
So I don’t think we have to worry about him being worse than the other David.

I wonder
if any actual Tigers fans (as opposed to Purcey family/friends) had a Purcey jersey. Maybe if they really hated Sizemore…

Who buys jerseys for middle relievers?

If history repeats itself...
…..he will be picked up by San Francisco and become World Series MVP ……like Edgar Renteria did, after bombing as a Tiger.
Only time will tell if Scott Sizemore becomes as successful as the other half of THAT trade did.
Course we DO have the DD trades that worked like.....
….Ugueth Urbina for Placido Polanco
and Doug Fister + David Pauley
/bookmarks this link to pull out 3 years later if everything goes well
So who will pick up Purcey when he gets the unconditional release...
….or will he join Brandon, Will, Lester, Enrique and the resy of the exhiles in Toledo
darn it
I want him out!
Also a fan of the Rays and Lightning.

My head is spinning
Normally, I can tell you everybody on the 25-man roster without too much thought. Right now, maybe not. Who’s in our bullpen?
Pauley
Schlereth
Coke
Alburquerque
Benoit
Valverde

I'm glad this drama is over with for now
Seems like Purcey got extra hatred because he was linked to the Sizemore trade. That’s the kind of stuff I don’t like. When we acquire a player, that player should get a warm welcome no matter what. If he fails, give him a little moral support. I wish Purcey success in Toledo if he clears waivers.
I disagree completely...
He got extra hatred because he walked the bases loaded on less than 20 pitches, not once but TWICE..in consecutive appearances essentially costing us both games.
That has zero to do with Scott Sizemore.
as well as...
A 7.23ERA, 6.06 xFIP (so I guess he was only projected to be as sucky as Jason Grilli for the rest of the year…) a 0.60 k/BB ratio, 2.20 WHIP while with the Tigers.
And you really think the extra hatred came from the Scott Sizemore trade? His numbers alone aren’t reason enough?
then call it extra extra hatred, if you like
Purcey started the season off pretty good. He looked like a rather good pitcher until June 21st, which at that time he had a 2.22 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
Exactly
The Sizemore thing didn’t help, but the crappy pitching is the reason.

that just sent them over the edge of hate
to where there is no coming back.
That's your perception.
I disliked DD more because of the Sizemore deal (especially now that Purcey was DFA’d) but that didn’t color my perception of Purcey. I thought the deal was working out until Purcey forgot what a strike was and now, now I’m glad he’s gone.
I have a grand idea: let's win a game.
I never cared about Sizemore
My hatred of Purcey was 100% based on his terrible performance for the Tigers. I thought that was a solid trade when it was announced, and was hoping for competence from him.
thank god
it’s about time
just wish we didn’t give Oakland a free Scott Sizemore for their troubles.
