Tigers hope surgery on Brennan Boesch's thumb can be delayed
Via Tom Gage of the Detroit News: "The remainder of Brennan Boesch's season has been jeopardized by a partially torn ligament in his right thumb. It's the thumb that Boesch sprained nearly three weeks ago in Cleveland. Trainer Kevin Rand said Monday that thumb surgery is in Boesch's future to correct the situation but he hopes it can be delayed until after the season." I have to wonder if a DL stint wouldn't be for the best at this point, in hopes of keeping Boesch healthy enough for a playoff run. No matter what the decision, this is not good news.
