In a piece today about the vulnerability of pitchers, Jeff Sullivan of Lookout Landing links to this 2008 video of Jose Valverde getting drilled in the head by a comebacker, staying down for a couple minutes, then getting up to finish the save. One would hope that, were this to happen today, the player would be taken out regardless of his self-diagnosis. (Discerning viewers may also note that Valverde gave up a run to make it 4-3 and put runners on second and third before finally recording the save. Some things don't ever change.)
