What to Watch For:
1. Penny still inconsistent - Tigers starter Brad Penny has been unable to find some consistency all season. Although he hasn't lost a game since August 28th, he has only won 3 games out of his last 10. He is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in his career against Kansas City.

2. Tiger bats remain hot - Miguel Cabrera has been the most consistent bat all season and is currently hitting .323 in his last 10 games. Other Tigers to join him in hitting + .300 in their last 10 - Brandon Inge (.400), Don Kelly (.320), Magglio Ordonez (.438), Ryan Raburn (.407), and Ramon Santiago (.345).

On Deck:
Tigers return home on Thursday for their final 7 games of the season. They will welcome Baltimore for 4-games and then Cleveland for 3.

Uggggh

Woke up VERY early this morning, drove a long way to a really goofy meeting, came back to the office to be the head cat-herder all day on a planning process that’s taken twice as long as it should have, was looking forward to a Tigers game tonight…and get Brad Penny with an 8:10 start.

Odds that I’ll make it to the 9th inning: Slimmer than Cleveland’s playoff hopes.1

Also, I really want a beer when I get home but it’ll just put me to sleep faster.

Fister in on Wednesday.

Doug Fister will also pitch in the game on Wednesday. He will split the game with Scherzer. Playoff rotation getting set.

I do not like

Those numbers for Giovatella. I do not like his numbers one little bit. #annoyance

There's always one

That Kipnis guy over in Cleveland annoys me too, Luke Hughes kept running into Verlander fastballs the last road trip in Minnesota; he gets on my nerves, and so does Brent Morel, who seems to only hit Tigers pitching. Let’s remember that Peralta’s been a Central-teams killer himself. It seems like he has come through in almost every key situation against AL Central rivals this year.

BP could stand for batting practice or Brad Penny

It doesn’t matter much because for opposing batters it’s essentially the same thing.

If he could just put it below the belt he wouldn't be so bad.

Nothing’s wrong velocity wise (he touched 97 his last start). I think he’s gotten a bad rep because he bad starts have been REALLY bad, not that I’m saying that he should be in the rotation come October.
