Haha...you're right

But siberian will be able to post the 23-win club…which will be limited to JV and some guys from 2002.

Speaking of 2002, those are some pretty good numbers for Johnson, Schilling, and even to a lesser degree, Zito. Was this the same 2002 that Sosa and Arod, among countless others were putting up 45-50HR seasons? One of my first impulses was to say that sometimes we forget that hitters weren’t the only ones on PEDs. However, when I look at those three names, I feel like those are legit seasons, and should be viewed even more favorably in light of the environment.

Good point

Though I feel like juice gave hitters more power, and maybe endurance over the season. A lot of those huge power hitting numbers were doubles and singles and otherwise pop-outs juiced into HRs, and groundballs into singles and doubles.

I don’t know how much it helped batters against dominating pitchers as much as it helped them power through mediocre pitching. They still had to put the bat on the ball. Which has looked pretty hard to do against JV this year.

Zito is a tough call

I mean, he sure doesn’t LOOK the type, but he did fall off in a pretty immediate and dramatic way. Always raises and eyebrow considering he was still a fairly young guy.

You're right - Zito is an interesting case

When he was good, his bread and butter was a nasty hook that batters couldn’t hit if they knew it was coming. He was never a dominating power guy. I haven’t watched him pitch hardly at all since the SF signing. I’m guessing that guys either know is plan now or his curve just isn’t what it once was. Anyone seen enough Zito before and after to comment?
