AL Central at Detroit Tigers, Game 1
I'm Twinkie Town member Jessy S. I am currently doing a fan loving exercise that pits the best of the other four AL Central teams against the Detroit Tigers in a five game series. This was born from a AL Central roster put together by SBNation user kjmick24. I'll post the full rosters and the results of all other games at Twinkie Town. The link takes you to a full game one recap.

Why the uhhh....
peculiar lineup for the Tigers? I mean, Leyland is crazy, but I don’t know if he’s THAT crazy.
Good idea, but you should take a mulligan....
….and have a BYB poster give you a RHP & LHP lineup, so you can dabble a little closer to reality. But the idea is a good one.
Aside: your talks about the Tigers’ question marks vs. Twins’ question marks is laughable. I feel for the Twins (well not really [game 163 scar]) with your injuries from last year, but Morneau & Mauer aren’t healthy and w/o them your team is very stinky. Also, your best pitcher wouldn’t be our #3, so your rotation isn’t doing you any favors, either. But you’re right your farm system is better than ours. Then again, I’m not listening to Red Wings v. Mud Hens at work, so I don’t really care when they hoist that AL Central flag that Toledo dropped 2 of 3 at Rochester.

You DO realize that reports out of Twink Town say that he did not use a simulation for this
…he made it all up in his, pretend style. Jessy S is also a certifiable lunatic who called the Minneapolis police on a fellow SSS member because he said Die Mauer…The Mauer, in German. Jessy S told the police it was a death threat and the police actually contact the SSS member. Its your blog but frontpage material? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
It came from afar and traveled sedately on, a shrug of eternity

I do not have a keen insight into what goes on at Twinkie Town
I just assumed it involved a lot of ice fishing, strong women, good-looking men and above-average children. But thanks for the report.

Inge does have a place on this team
Batting cleanup!

Did you see who they have leading off in game 2?
Delmon? The power hitter with no speed and a bad OBP?
Has Delmon ever led off in his career? Will Delmon ever lead off in his career? Permit me to doubt . . .
I like the idea
But I think it would be better if there were some actual simulations to go along with this, even if it’s just playing it on MLB the Show or something. It looks like this dude just made it up.
Wow, just wow.
Didn’t post this in the twins blog because I didn’t want to subscribe there. Anyway,
In the lineup he had Young batting first, Inge second but in his “game” he had Ajax leading off and Inge batting in the fourth spot. After that I didn’t really need to read the rest. It just made my head hurt

Young batting first is his preview lineup for Game 2.
so that you have something to look forward to/scream about.
Over in their comments
They mentioned sims Diamond Mind, OOTP and Mogul. Anyone got any of those and want to run this as a legit sim?
Otherwise, it’s just kinda rosterbatory, y’know?
I have a 1979 copy of the board game Longball

But I’d need someone to make up the player stats cards and I don’t have the time to do that because, uh, I have a life.

I have OOTP
Currently the manager of the ’01 Tigers. 52-39, 1.5 GB of the White Sox as of July 15, 2001.
Traded away Juan Gonzalez, and got Jeremy Burnitz and Mike Sweeney to bolster the offense. This race between them and Chicago might go right down to the wire ….
In a Tiger fan's world, the Tigers go 162-0 and the White Sox go 0-162.
