Andy Dirks' walk-off hit gives his DR league team the title
The story is in Spanish, but you can take a look at the video at the bottom of the story. Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks had a walk-off hit to give his team, Escogito Leones, the Dominican Republic league champion. They now advance to the Caribbean Series. (Hat-tip: Tigers on Twitter)

This is why I love Google Chrome
I click, insta-translate. Apparently ex-Tiger Rodney got the W. Nice to see Dirks succeed. Also, he is the only white kid in the whole 6 minute video.
Go Tigers
"Apparently ex-Tiger Rodney got the W."
As you might expect, by blowing the save.

Andy Dirks
was also the only thing I understood. It’s funny listening to a different language and hearing a familiar name.
Andy
Feliz por Andy, es un jugador que siempre ha teniedo buen bate. If Jackson dosn’t show that he should be the leadoff man of the Tigers, nice to know Andy is already a Tiger.
With Damon batting second as DH, the lineup would be much better.
And the rest of the Majors might as well forefit 2012.

I would like to see Dallas vs the Giants on Thanksgiving, Make it happen NFL!
Twins fan
Reduced to making snide comments on a Tigers board. Go back to your board and analyze all of the “if’s” the Twins need to go right to contend.
For the record
This is the same dude that made up that whole “Tigers vs. AL Central” thing at Twinkie Town.
They analyzed the "ifs" and decided it was their best chance to win something

True
But the Tigers do win the series in the end. Be sure to check out game five.

It is nice to know
that in your head the tigers win the series…
Now do you have any type of realistic basis to go by with it or is it just random thoughts?

We love to hate on Jackson's .317 OBP as a leadoff man
But we’re perfectly willing to suggest Dirks and his .296 OBP to fill the role.

I've mentioned this before as well
In response to somebody who suggested Dirks take over the leadoff spot.
Just doesn’t make much sense. And how did Damon make his way into this conversation?
Did we really just sign Prince Fielder? Holllllllllly sh*t.
Andy Dirks, baseball hero!

I have to admit I had a big smile watching the celebration with Dirks in the middle of it.

I didn't know Chumlee was a Dominical Beisbol fan
But there he is right over Dirks’ right shoulder.

Also
Dirks may be the only player on the field who we know the true age of. The rest are probably 30 years old for all we know.
Found this on MLB.com...
Dirks gets to play hero as Leones win crown
Key sentence on Dirks: “The former eighth-round craft pick plated the tying run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning and he delivered a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth in the final game of the best-of-9 set.”
2 outs, bottom of the 9th, game 9 of a 9 game series! Uh…wow!
Dirks is apparently having himself a nice postseason in the DR, .307/.374/.420 with 18 RBI in 23 games

Caribbean Series starting soon!
That’s when I start to get interested in Winter Ball.
Cespedes probably visits Lakeland in the next two weeks, before pitchers and catchers report.
