Note that payroll for 2012 is already at $88.9 million, and that figure doesn’t include what we’ll pay for Porcello, Scherzer, Coke, Kelly, and Young. Come 2013, we’ll also have to start paying fair wages to AJax, Avila, Boesch, and Fister. Which of these do you want to cut to pay Fielder?

It was serious, but due to the fall out from the rest of the community you are going to play it off as a joke….got it.

Think of it more as gentle ribbing. To explain the MLive stuff: occasionally someone new comes around who we characterize as an “MLive commenter,” named after another website that offers a free-for-all dumping ground for Tigers discussion. Here, an “MLive commenter” is characterized by the following tendencies:

1. Aggressively advancing naive recommendations or points of view that seem taken primarily from video game experience
2. Posting in a sneering, arrogant tone
3. Putting little/no effort toward spelling, punctuation and grammar, showing a lack of consideration for fellow readers

That clearly doesn’t describe you, but we’re cranky and tired of roster speculation while waiting for something (anything) to happen, or else we probably wouldn’t be so chippy. Hope you keep coming around – we’re usually a pretty friendly bunch.

Just kidding.

It sort of reminds me of that high school kid who makes the full court shot at the end of the game to win it… and winds up on Sportscenter. But then ends up a garbageman after HS because he wasn’t any good at basketball.

This is insane.
