World Series game 1: Tigers - Giants  lineups

Stay connected for news and updates

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The lineups for game 1 of the World Series have been announced. Remember, there's no DH. The National League loves to see pitchers try to hit.

There were no changes to either playoff roster. Both the Tigers and Giants will go with the same 25 players they used in their respective league championship series.

The Tigers' batting order is the same they've used all post season long against left-handed pitching, minus a DH. With Young in left, the odd man out of the game 1 lineup is Andy Dirks.

The Giants are going with the same lineup which won the final 3 games of the NLCS.

Detroit Tigers lineup:

1. Austin Jackson CF
2. Omar Infante 2B
3. Miguel Cabrera 3B
4. Prince Fielder 1B
5. Delmon Young LF
6. Jhonny Peralta SS
7. Avisail Garcia RF
8. Alex Avila C
9. Justin Verlander P

San Francisco Giants lineup:

1. Angel Pagan CF
2. Marco Scutaro 2B
3. Pablo Sandoval 3B
4. Buster Posey C
5. Hunter Pence RF
6. Brandon Belt 1B
7. Gregor Blanco LF
8. Brandon Crawford SS
9. Barry Zito P
