Going to the Blue Jays: Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson and catcher John Buck.
To the Marlins: SS Yunel Escobar, SS Adeiny Hechavarria, SP Henderson Alvarez, minor-leaguers SP Justin Nicolino and CF Jacob Marisnick
What is this.. I don't even..
You have to think the Blue Jays immediately jump to contender status in the East just behind the Yankees. Romero is now their 3rd starter, behind Johnson and Buehrle with Morrow and Happ in the 4th and 5th spots.
A quick look suggest their opening day line-up could look like this:
SS Reyes
2B Izturis
RF Bautista
1B Encarnacion
3B Lawrie
CF Rasmus
C Arencibia
DH Lind
LF Davis
Not sure on the order, exactly, but the Jays are suddenly in a much better spot than they were a week ago.
On the flip side, the Marlins have dumped something like $186 million of their rebuilt line-up from last off-season. Giancarlo Stanton summed it up nicely, tweeting, "Alright, I'm pissed off!!! Plain & Simple". You've gotta think he's the next to go.
