The Tigers offered free agent outfielder Scott Hairston a two-year deal, but reports claim both parties have moved on, unable to agree on terms.
The morning rumors out of the Winter Meetings were true. The Tigers were serious in their pursuit of free agent outfielder Scott Hairston.

The afternoon rumors Hairston is no longer a target of the Tigers are also true
Adam Rubin of ESPN New York:

After signing $1.1 million a season deals with the Mets in 2011 and 2012, Hairston is looking for more security and a hefty raise. Reports are the 32 year old right-hand hitting Hairston wants a multi-year contract worth somewhere in the range of $4-5 million a season.
Despite being an excellent fit for the Tigers' needs, the contract demands of the 9 year veteran may have been too rich for the Tigers' blood.
