The Yankees are trying to get under the luxury tax threshold to reset thier tax rate. The Dodgers are spending money like they are printing it. If the Yankees succeed and the Dodgers don't come to their senses by Dec 2014, Verlander's agent will have to change hats from agent to auctoneer. All Justin has to do is stay healthy, pitch to his capabilities and win another Cy Young award. At 32 he may not get a 6 yr deal, but it would be a record breaker.
