ESPN's Baseball Tonight was in Lakeland, er, this afternoon, and spoke with Tigers manager Jim Leyland, among other things.

"I've always been a hyper guy," Leyland told Francona.

Francona noted Leyland's intensity as a manager and wondered if he was as intense as a player. Leyland said he was, he just didn't have the talent.

"I never wanted to manage in the big leagues, I wanted to play in the big leagues.
