Slightly OT: 2012 Sabermetric Teams: The Market for Saber Players
This isn't an entirely Tigers based article, but I thought it was an interesting read. They have teams grouped by how much they are influenced by sabermetrics.
Unsurprisingly, the Tigers were listed in the "Old School" category. I found this relevant because I've seen this discussion about how our front office isn't saber-oriented around BYB quite a few times. There seems to be some good teams in the "Old School" grouping and some pretty bad teams in the "Highly Analytical" section.
So -- do we think the Tigers are falling behind by not embracing advanced statistics or do we think we're doing okay without them? Personally, I'd like us to start using them more than we are right now.

The Tigers can win with smoke and mirrors for all I care.
Nothing is more advanced than “Winning”. I want the Tigers to keep their strategies secret, whether they go by old school, sabermetrics, voodoo, or a combination of things. Our front office is pretty good at leaving the fans and media in the dark. For all we know, they could be using an Artificial Intelligence Technology that we don’t even know about.
fair enough KA
like you said, all that really matters is the number in the W column… regardless of how they are achieved. I do like that we aren’t very open with our strategies.
Did we really just sign Prince Fielder? Holllllllllly sh*t.
