Snap reaction: THIS GAME WAS AWESOME. (Mostly.)
The Tigers jumped all over the Red Sox today in one of FOX's national Saturday games, winning 10-0 on 12 hits (including five home runs). The best news: Both Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder homered. Twice. The middle of the lineup didn't take long to impress the home fans as they helped the team improve to 2-0. Of course, they weren't the only ones hitting the ball a long way, as Alex Avila also homered off Red Sox starter Josh Beckett, who had a very bad day.
The only worry for Tigers fans comes because Doug Fister left the game in the fourth inning with a strain in his side. "OBLIQUE! AHH!" We'll await further information on the injury but hope it's just a one-game thing.
