Doug Fister will make his return to the rotation on Monday for the Detroit Tigers, starting for the first time since suffering an injury around his ribs April 7 during his first appearance of the year during the opening week of the season. That means room had to be made.

Brayan Villarreal has been optioned to Triple-A Toledo to make room. Villarreal has not made an appearance since April 27, when he gave up a run to the Yankees in the ninth inning to take the loss.
