Watching both Porcello and Scherzer pitch well their last outings was certainly a nice turnaround. However, and particularly with Max, they both tend to have their bouts of inconsistency that can drive us all mad. So far this season they've both started in six games, and with varying levels of success.
My question is, between Scherzer and Porcello who's more important to the success of this season? Which one of these guys do we really need to buckle down and pitch well on a consistent basis? I have no doubt in my mind that both of them will end up having a pretty good year, and I'm certainly not worried about them, but I am curious as to who everyone feels needs to step up big this year.
Also do you think the early season success of Drew Smyly has taken a little pressure off of these two?
