Jeff Jones: As bullpen coach, he was fired, then he was rehired, then promoted to pitching coach. Then it just seems to me the pitching staff stabilized. Not just one or two guys, but the whole staff seemed to come into sync at that moment in time. Strike out rates seemed to climb across the board, not just JV and Max, but Fister and Porcello, too. All of the bullpen pitchers (except for Coke for a short period) looked like they understood and embraced thier roles. I don't know if Jones gets enough credit for what seemed to have happened.
