GIF of the Day: Jose Iglesias hits a double, forgets where second base is

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Jose Iglesias tripped himself into an out on the basepaths in the fifth inning of tonight's game between the Tigers and Red Sox.

Red Sox utility infielder Jose Iglesias has been very impressive at the plate this season, hitting .431/.482/.578 through his first 31 games this year. Yes, that is largely fueled by a .494 BABIP, but his performance has still helped the Red Sox jump out to an early season division lead in the brutal AL East.

Tonight, Iglesias added to his tally with a single in the fifth inning. He tried to stretch the play into a double, but QWOP'd himself past second base for the final out of the inning.
