So, um, that was interesting. We get beat like a drum for 3 games and 8 innings, then find a way to scrape a rally together reminiscent of last August against the Indians, down to Torii Hunter hitting his home run almost exactly where Miguel Cabrera hit his game winning home run off Chris Perez. Baseball is a funny game.
Since we last played Cleveland, not a whole lot has changed. We left the shores of Lake Erie with a convincing sweep and a 7 game lead over the Tribe. Since then, the Tigers are 10-11, taking only one day off and playing a doubleheader, while the Indians are 9-9 and coming off a sweep at the hands of the Atlanta Braves. Neither team is exactly streaking into this series.
Since we're getting near the end of summer, it's probably time to make this weekend a last hurrah for the lighter picnic beers. This beer is the perfect accompaniment for a barbecue or a baseball game. A light, crisp, easy drinking malt profile that's crystal clear and has just the right amount of hops to cut the sweetness without staining your palate makes this the perfect session beer to drink all weekend without slogging you down or making you too incapable of figuring out how to start the grill. Stats for this beer have been unavailable, but this is a beer that will be tasty all weekend. It's a middle reliever: not a closer, not a starter, but get's the job done and deserves a spot on the roster.
