As we all know, Hawk tears are the best tears. So far, we've seen him cry a few of them, but our massive Coke problem is making things a little too close for comfort. With two more games before we venture up to Minnesota, it would sure be nice to get rid of a couple more bullpen issues before the trip. We've already taken care of the shortstop problem Tom Smykowski style, so we're just a one or two more issues away from having an nice, efficient lineup.
Greenbush Brewing company is located over in Sawyer on the shores of Lake Michigan. This fertile wine growing region also features several great beers, including one that is still using a copper burner and several kitchen pots to churn out great beer from a former auto body shop. Today, we will focus on the Greenbush Distorter Porter.
The distorter is a hybrid style stout/porter that combines the best of both worlds. A creamy biscuit head adorns a deep, dark, malty body with a pleasant hoppy bite that works with both a smoky, nutty body and a crisp, floral finish. The chocolatey, coffee flavors are distinctly stout, but the roasted barley will pleasantly confuse your palate and play off the Willamette hops to give you a finish wanting you to come back for more. At 7.2% ABV and 50 IBUs, you'll get both a pleasant malty body, and a distinctly hoppy finish that will pair nicely with both a filet and chocolate mousse.
